Raleigh Firefighter Paralyzed and Walked Again
YOUNG Brit James Thorpe has been left paralysed from the neck down later on a freak accident on his stag-do in Spain.
The fireman, 28, bankrupt his cervix and seven vertebrae in his spine just two hours afterwards arriving on the vacation island of Majorca with his stag-political party.
He says he tripped and fell while paddling in the body of water at knee-height, banging his head on the seabed last Thursday.
Despite being told he may non walk again by doctors, Mr Thorpe has vowed to make information technology dorsum to the Great britain to wed his fiance Michaela Watson on June 24.
Michaela, who has rushed to Majorca to be by James' bedside, said: "James is and so excited about getting married that he'due south using information technology equally his bulldoze to get improve.

"He was directing his friends to tell them what to practice and they made a headrest out of sand so he could keep his neck still.

Afterward the accident James was rushed to the hospital where MRI scans revealed he had not only cleaved his neck but besides 7 of his vertebrae.
The unfortunate fiance has since undergone surgery in which medics replaced the badly damaged os in his neck with bone from his hip.
James' family unit are desperately trying to raise £20,000 to fly him dorsum for specialist rehabilitation treatment.
The couple, from Boston Lincolnshire, are due to ally in at Belvoir Castle in Grantham on June 24, earlier jetting around the world for their honeymoon.
Only Michaela said the wedding will be postponed if James is not upwardly to it.
